If you love Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love,” King Crimson’s “Epitaph,” or Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You” you might dig this. The vox are a lil shaky (it was done in a first take) but I would very much appreciate any feedback 🙂 Click “show more” for lyrics underneath the video box

The vocalist does sound a bit like Hope Sandoval. The music did sound good. I listened to the song twice since it took me a minute to realize that I had to click on “show more” at the youtube sight in order to read the lyrics. You might mention to the readers to click on your name and song in the apporopriate place and to insruct us where to read the lyrics. The less the hassle the better. I really liked the song–as I like Mazzy Star as well (that whole genre). I would just say to put the vocals a little more up front–louder. Or go heavier on the bass–less on the piano harmonics. the piano sounded very good but the vocals were harmonizing with the piano harmonics and I could not hear the words very clearly, but that can be said from me about a lot of top 40 stuff. I liked the simile and the whole song.

The piano is very good. Has a classy old full sound. The vocals are a little lazy for the song as it gives it a dragging effect. Makes it sound a little amateur. But maybe change the vocal projection or the vocalist to a more spirited sound and this will be a better song to listen for the ears. Great piano though. Thanks for posting.

Cool. Ethereal feel. Piano is a bit bright and the vocals are a bit muddy.
I don’t think I’d call the vocalist tired but instead had the impression that she envisioned the song as slower. I still like it however.

mix is funky. vocals are buried if this a real piano it was recorded well. unfortunately i’m not hearing anything special, no hook, nothing musically i can walk away with. but cool instrumentally.

let me guess the piano player mixed this. i can’t understand the vocals. they sound good but inaudible. i do like the tune though. also it doesn’t seem to go anywhere musically. the same chord progression over and over. maybe a long hard re-write is in order here. good luck. mk

Words are not comprehensible. I like the piano tune, but it seems a bit busy and overbearing, and way too much in the lower end. It could also benefit from some harmonic variance in the melody, it appears to be repetitious. As I am also a pianist, I like the concept. Could also benefit from some clarity in the production.

Piano is way too big and dominates to the point of making the vox irrelevant. Lyrics, from what I could make out, are very pensive and moody, kinda like enya (sp?) on shroons. Maybe the singer wasn’t really interested (invested) in the lyric.
