Road Of Broken Dreams
(Dying Soul)

Eddie wheels his chair around on the seedy side of town
trying to hustle a dollar or two
I knew him before he went off to war
back when he wore two shoes
Ol Eddie was a fighter a wild bull rider
but that war took away his self esteem
now he sits by the curb drinking Thunderbird
down on the road of broken dreams

that cold wind just blows colder
when life has taken it’s toll
and the vultures they show no mercy
when they’re preying on a dying soul

Jenny was a model and man she wore it well
she graced the covers of the magazines
she took pills to keep from eating so she could keep competing
but those pills only led to darker things
the tracks on her arms have robbed her of her charm
she no longer looks like a homecoming queen
now she’s walking the streets just to make ends meet
down on the road of broken dreams

that cold wind just blows colder
when life has taken it’s toll
and the vultures they show no mercy
when they’re preying on a dying soul

Nice to see someone post. I like this site, but man its dead. About your song, I really like the music, the slide and harp play in nicely. The vocals seem to high in the mix. It doesn’t come off like your in the same room. It would be helpful if you could post the lyric.

Sorry I didn’t see the lyrics below till I posted
