Yesterday’s Sorrow and Tomorrow’s Pain

when I think about all the good times we had
you know it makes me feel kinda sad
what once was good now has gone all bad

when I see you coming baby I run and hide
ain’t worried about my foolish pride
cause baby you got the devil by your side

you looked so good while you were lying there
but I just had to come up for some air
now you’re gone down the road somewhere

you played it so cool while you did me wrong
you might be here today but tomorrow you’re gone
and I’m still here but baby not for long

I walked down to the station in the drizzling rain
bought me a one way ticket on a hell bound train
with a stop between yesterday’s sorrow and tomorrow’s pain

when I think about all the good times we had
you know it makes me feel kinda sad
what once was good now has gone all bad

your guitar playing is real cool. lyrically your 1st verse is just to plain it doesn’t catch my ear. i’m not hearing a defined chorus. from what I’ve heard of your other stuff before and i don’t believe this to be your best work. still like your voice. kess

Thanks for your input Kess…the reason you don’t hear a defined chorus is because there ain’t one LOL!! no,it’s not my best writing I was just making stuff rhyme.they really don’t have much of a meaning. It’s just a little shuffle blues song mainly for the guitar which is played by my friend Stuart Pendergast. Thanks again..Toney

liked the lead guitar work. thought the lyrics to be weak.

Killer guitar! Imagine if some real humans were playing on the other backing track! Wow!

The lyrics, although not great, are better than what you described. If your goal was only to rhyme with every last word, you did a great job! However, I think you have some workable stuff here if you are doing a rewrite. I like the title and a couple of lines, like “cause baby you got the devil by your side” and “I’m still here but baby not for long” and the inclusion of the title here “with a stop between yesterday’s sorrow and tomorrow’s pain.”

This has lots of potential! But the loops are just not cutting it!

    Notable effort! Keep em comin’

    Toney,

Some cool lyrics in there but a wicked downer. Make it funny or give me some insight or something. I’ve got enough to feel bad about :)

The guitar work is great. It seems a little out of place for your vocal and lyric though. You might try something that matches the somber tone of the song.

Please give us some hope! Surely theres some in there somewhere.

    Danny
