Marketing / ads: launch a campaign

With Artistnest, you promote your music and your concerts right from your dashboard – without having to learn your way around the ads manager. You choose what you want to promote, set your budget and time frame, and Artistnest turns that into a campaign on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). This guide takes you step by step through creating and launching your first campaign.

Requirement: connect Meta

Campaigns run through your own Meta advertising platforms. Before you can create a campaign, you need to connect Meta once.

  1. 1Open your artist's Marketing dashboard.
  2. 2If you see the note "Meta not connected" at the top, click Connect and follow the Facebook sign-in.
  3. 3Then, under Settings → Connections, in the Meta card, select your Ad account, your Facebook page and your Pixel (and optionally your Instagram account). If an asset is still missing, the status "Meta connected – setup incomplete" points it out.
  4. 4Once everything is set up, the Marketing dashboard shows the green status "Meta ready" with your ad account, your page and your pixel.

Only when Meta is ready can you click the New campaign button.

Step 1: Start a new campaign

  1. 1In your Marketing dashboard, go to New campaign at the top right.
  2. 2The "Create new campaign" wizard opens and takes you through the setup in three steps: Settings, Creative and Preview.

Step 2: Settings (type, target, budget, duration)

  1. 1Type: Decide what you want to promote – Release (promote a single, EP or album) or Live tour (promote your concerts and events).
  2. 2Target: Pick the specific target from your list. Use the search field to find the right release or event quickly. You can also select several targets.
  3. 3Name: Give your campaign a name (e.g. "Album release campaign").
  4. 4Budget & duration: The default is €140 over 14 days (€10/day). If you drag the Duration slider, the budget adjusts automatically (€10/day). As soon as you change the budget yourself, it stays fixed – with Couple to duration you turn the automatic coupling back on.

Step 3: Creative (visuals and text)

In the Creative step, you choose your ad's visuals – Artistnest suggests them automatically from your cover, but you can also upload your own images – and set your Ad text. For a live tour, you add visuals and text per city.

Step 4: Preview and create

In the Preview step, you see an approximation of what your ad will look like. The final ad is optimized by Meta based on your content. Then click Create campaign – the campaign is first created as a Draft and isn't running yet.

Step 5: Prepare on Meta and go live

  1. 1Open the newly created campaign in the campaign table by clicking its row.
  2. 2Click Prepare on Meta. Artistnest creates the campaign in your Meta ad account; the status changes to "Prepared on Meta".
  3. 3Then activate the campaign with Go live. The status then changes to Live.

In this view, you can Pause a running campaign at any time or resume it.

Track results

  • In the campaign table, you see the key figures for each campaign at a glance: Name · Type · Status · Budget · Period · Reach · Clicks · Spend.
  • The tiles at the top sum up your totals across all campaigns: Campaigns, Reach, Clicks and Spend.
  • In the campaign view, you'll also find Impressions, CTR and Conversions as well as a Metrics history over time.
  • The figures are synced automatically every 6 hours. If you want to update them right away, use Refresh metrics.

Tips

  • Start with the default budget. €140 over 14 days is a good way in to see how your audience responds.
  • Plan around your release or your event. Set the start and end dates so the campaign runs in the lead-up and on release day or concert day.
  • Keep an eye on the first few days. Reach, clicks and CTR tell you early on whether your ad is landing.
